Volvo Trucks continues to improve productivity within construction by releasing five new features. These include Volvo Dynamic Steering for dual front axles and increased front axle loads. This further highlights Volvo Trucks' special attention to trucks driving in rough terrain.
Volvo Trucks is now launching five new features which further improves productivity for trucks driving in rough terrain.
Increased front axle load allows heavy duty Volvo trucks to haul one extra tonne in payload per front axle. With a dual front axle, this means 20 tonnes instead of 18. Operators are also given more flexibility when placing weight on the truck.
Electronically controlled drum brakes are now available for Volvo FMX with driven front axle. They offer better breaking precision and allow for intelligent features such as Hill Start Aid and Automatic Parking Brake Release.
Volvo Dynamic Steering is now available for trucks with dual front axles. It helps the driver to maneuver heavily loaded trucks without effort. It also reduces road induced steering wheel vibrations.
...Volvo Dynamic Steering improves driver efficiency while minimizing the risk of back, neck or shoulder pain from driving.
Rear air suspension will now also be available for trucks with front-wheel drive. This reduces road vibrations which means less back strain for the driver.
...The reduced vibration is especially noticeable when the truck is operating without a load. Less vibration also means less wear and tear on the frame, chassis and body.
For heavier combinations, Volvo Trucks now offers 5-axle trucks directly from the factory with a total gross vehicle weight of between 43 and 56 tonnes.
Yet these are not the first new features that Volvo Trucks has launched for trucks driving in rough terrain. Recently Volvo Trucks also introduced Automatic Traction Control, I-Shift for severe duty applications and Volvo FH with a Heavy Duty Bumper.
Together, these new features make it easier and safer for drivers who work in construction or rough terrain, while also raising productivity and cutting fuel costs.
