Volvo Group Presents Carbon Dioxide-Neutral Trucks at the Washington International Renewable Energy Conference

Swedish vehicle manufacturer Volvo Group presents seven carbon dioxide-neutral trucks at the Washington International Renewable Energy Conference (WIREC, March 4th to 6th). The four Volvo FMs, two Volvo VNs and a Mack Pinnacle are equipped with engines modified to operate with seven different renewable fuels or fuel combinations, and can be driven without any net contribution of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere. Volvo explained that to establish the carbon-dioxide-neutral trucks, a large-scale production of renewable fuels is required, as well as investments in research and development. The WIREC, arranged by the US State Department, aims to highlight the global possibilities and challenges in the area of renewable energy.
