AB Volvo Makes Public Offer to Acquire Nissan Diesel

AB Volvo announced it would take over Nissan Diesel Motor for SEK 7.5 billion (EUR 809 million). With the acquisition, Volvo - the world's No. 2 truck maker which owns the Volvo, Renault and Mack brands and already 19 percent of Nissan Diesel – will capitalize on the Japanese firm's expertise in hybrid technology while both companies will save money to develop cleaner diesel engines together.
